...gucci.ruled.the.runway...
besides being on trend, picking the perfect silhouettes, and bringing opulence, glamour, and FASHION back to the catwalk... This collection finally gave me faith in Frida Giannini to really embrace, understand and stamp Gucci as a fashion forefront once again!! Disappointment with previous collections... I was waiting for her to wow me, excite me, give me something to say a-ha you DO deserve this to... and betch finally did it!!! The seventies are ruling the entire scope of the fashion industry this year... And in this collection Frida nailed it! She nailed what fall 2011 is ALL about... the seventies, with the rich regal and royal colors... the plums, raisins, deep fuchsias, emerald greens, rich aubergines... I can't wait to go see the collection in person my fashion monsters! MMm!!! Pomella, I'm coming to Rodeo tomorrow- can't wait to see your face and their fierce new frocks!!

Before Gucci's 90th anniversary show today, Frida Giannini cited a pair of influences: Anjelica Huston, as lensed by the photographer Bob Richardson, and Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine. That first reference point meant we were back in the 1970's again. Giannini's girls have traded in last season's harem pants, macramé moto jackets, and lean jumpsuits for culottes, pussy-bow blouses topped by snug sweater vests or velvet blazers, and shirtwaist dresses. Many of them wore fedoras with feathers in the brim, and some sported both a shoulder bag (an elongated version of the Jackie) and a mini top-handle frame bag. If that sounds like Giannini had pared down the glamour quotient, think again. There was fur and python and patent leather galore. The lattermost came in a sexy-as-all-get-out slim black pencil skirt worn with a silver fox chubby. What was most notable about the furs and pythons was their eye-opening colors, and the designer gave full rein to her penchant for mixing unexpected hues together in one outfit: Take the ocher coat with Mongolian lamb trim worn with a scarlet blouse and a bordeaux hat, or the amber python jacket with rust-colored fur collar that topped a lavender shirt and violet cardigan.
For evening, Giannini went long, cutting draped gowns in as much as 35 meters of chiffon. Don't think for an instant, though, that these were covered up. On the contrary, they dipped down to the navel and came slit up to the hips. Sure, there was a long-sleeved version, but it was as sheer as the others; the model's matching briefs were on full view. Here, the designer skipped the fur in favor of shrugs or scarves or jackets whipped up from hand-dyed silk flowers.
Backstage, Giannini said the long dresses were the Florence Welch part of the equation, explaining that she could picture the chanteuse rocking one of them on stage. But they wouldn't have looked out of place on Anjelica circa 1970-something, either. The seventies are understandably dear to both the Gucci brand and its creative director, though coming off a Spring season where so many designers were indebted to the decade, that meant this collection lacked the shock of the new. Still, you can't fault the luxe factor of today's show or the fact that there was so much wantable, wearable fashion on the runway, that fab patent skirt not least of all. "

music videos can be so inspiring... it's interpreting an artist's music and collaborating it in an artistic vision with director, stylist, hair and make up to make the fantasy a reality... and I'm loving this beautiful and inspiring music video. Katy almost taking a risk once... the first two looks don't suit her- although I completely give her a standing ovation from stepping away from the same old 50's pin-up girl look that she's just completely bored me to death with... but her last look in this video- BEST BY FAR... KUDOS TO YOU KATY!!! FINALLY SOME ART HAS BEEN CREATED!!

...days.of.the.dead...
If you’ve been paying attention to Lady Gaga and Mugler lately, then you’ve probably noticed the unconventional 24-year-old model Rick Genest a.ka. “Zombie Boy.”
What you may not know about model Rick Genest, is that over the years, he has spent more than £4,075 Canadian on full body tattoos in his quest to become a living zombie.
The tattooed model originally gained fame in Canada as the star attraction in a Montreal freak show circus where he starred in a play that showcased the seven deadly sins (Genest played Sloth).
Genest is fast becoming synonymous with Lady Gaga and the Mugler brand, having recently starred in Lady Gaga’s Born this Way video where Lady Gaga wore her make-up in similar fashion to Genest’s tattoos.
Genest made his entry into the fashion world when Nicola Formichetti, Mugler’s creative director and Lady Gaga’s BFF, discovered him on Facebook.
Soon after, Genest was cast in Mugler’s The Anatomy of Change fashion video and walked the runway for the brand’s F/W 2011 menswear collection.
We have a feeling we’re going to be seeing much more of this rising fashion star.

...spring.flings...
as the days get warmer... and nights get cooler... it only means one thing for us fashion junkies.... time for a spring fling. yes- there's the dreaded "spring cleaning" (my half-ass solution to this winter vs. summer wardrobe dilemma?) well for starters I despise the thought of "seasonal" pieces... hence why I buy mostly black or neutral colors... but for the items that I'm REALLY into for the season... I pull a single rolling rack in my room, to the side of the sliding glass door to Jimi Hendrix's balcony, and place on it the items I'm currently obsessed with... my favorite shoes, boots, scarves, hats, bags, it's the easiest breeziest way of not having to dig and dig through your wardrobe for the pieces you want now now now!!! Fashion emergency adverted! And if you really want to get down and dirty into it... if you're not the type who throws on her crazy amazingly Mongolian lamb fur coat just to run to Starbucks with her hair thrown up in a bun... then STORAGE SPACE BAGS!!! For your important coats... use the hanger bag ones!!! For all those cashmere pieces that WILL.. I promise WILL get those moth holes if you just keep them folded in the corner collecting dust!!! Get those space vac storage bags! Not only will you be able to SEE your fabulous collection more easily... but you will also be giving longevity to your wardrobe! And for us die hard fashion lovers... we understand that with our garb as our art... we take pride in our valuable pieces... hence TAKE CARE OF THEM!! Even if you have a Trumph sized bank account guess what? Those Fuchsia Forever Tina Louboutin's you ruined? They were only made for that season so sorry betch! Your loss applesauce!

...breaking.out.is.hard.to.do...
when my incredible friend TJ Espinoza asked me to host KIIS FM'S "Breakout Star" with American Idol's Katie Steven's (she's SO fucking sweet it's ridiculous!), DJ Miles, Sisanie (KIIS FM regular DJ, Monday's through Friday's 10am-3pm, and Warner Brothers' music rep- Jennifer Liss, I was only too excited to say yes and help judge these music hopefuls for a chance for them to compete to win a spot in the Wango Tango line-up! (oh- how I loved Wango Tango!) Here are some pics from the day- and we finally decided the winner of THAT round was Chase Jordan! They had swagger and style, moved around the stage, playing their own instruments (almost a depressingly dying art in music in itself!) , we got laughs, and tons of fun! And hey- an adorable little autistic boy I "won" sunglasses for stuck a dollar bill in my thigh high!! Haha! I guess they're getting younger and younger!!
after all of these hot host's and myself finished our task at hand... it was time for TJ and I to cause some trouble... and oh honey bunny... did we ever... bumping into ex-bestfriends, ex-boyfriends, the he-said, she-said bullshit- drinks starting flowing and I just danced the night away with one of the most beautiful people (Inside and out... and trust me loverfaces... in Hollywood I've seen my share of devil's in this angel town...)- so from Eden to UltraSuede where we caught the secret Nicki Minaj performance, a quick hang out with Britney (YES- BRITNEY BITCH!! Tj was the MAIN dancer for the infamous, notorious and GLORIOUS Britney Spears' for over 5 years! Lead dancer and choreographer from Baby One More Time, to Sometimes, Stronger, Oops I did it Again... List goes on and on!!! And not to mention the Queen Bee being his best friend- he's also been the lead dancer for Justin Timberlake, Usher and Janet (Miss Jackson if you're nasty JUUUUUST to name a few!!!) damn, my friends are impressive right? Then BACK to Eden, Bill- Tj's driver of 10 years- who's now in love with me and I call him Billy Bunny- drove us up to an after party, then on to the next blah blah- and after getting into an argument with a French man explaining that I wasn't just going to go and fuck him and I'm not that type- and having to babysit my gay having mama drama.... I couldn't be more excited to come home to my lover bunny Jimi Hendrix, have a fresh Bazaar magazine and Barneys New York Catalog waiting for me, throwing on a face mask- and updating all of you fashion junkies on my wild adventures thus far... and as always... I have to include my amazing "how to have a walk of shame home, yet look fucking fabulous outfit."

last night was another night of fun and debauchery with my brunette little fellow fashion junkie, Bee, my amazing crew of Sweds (seriously- the fucking best people ever... I love Sweds- and why you may ask? BECAUSE THEY SAY WHAT THEY MEAN AND THEY MEAN WHAT THEY SAY...) there's no guess work or ulterior motives... it's brutal beautiful honesty... so I was only too excited to see my mini me and new LOVE "THE PRETTY RECKLESS" perform at The Hardrock Cafe last night!! So Brett, Eric, Joel, Kylie (Candy for my VOJ family...), Hannah, Karolin and I went out with a vengeance! We played, with sparkled, we shimmied, and we shook it all night long! Another successful an amazing night with the people I love.... what a lucky little bitch am I? a

that's what everyone calls my place when they walk in... and you're about to see why. Adorned with my treasures from my travels all around, from my The Royal Fashion Throne, to amazing beaded necklaces bought at street fairs, Ostrich feather plume fans from the 1940s, and hand painted floppy 1970's authentic straw hats... And also a cute little D.I.Y of how to make your own perfect Midsummer Night's Dream flower headpiece to wear with flowers in your hair....
Here are a few of my favorite things!
e
I absolutely love collecting Vintage clutches... the intricate, ornate and unique details of each clutch make the most simple of outfits have an instant shot of glam. Some people collect baseball cards... I collect art.
and yes... my badass Teacup Yorkie, Jimi Hendrix- Jp and I's child eats on a silver platter. Nothing but the best for our teacup rockstar!
and yes... I believe in EXCESSorizing! Takes any simple basic outfit to a whole other look with the right necklaces piled on just right... or a switch of a bag, or even throwing on some of your favorite beat up motorcycle boots. You can stick with class or go full out badass fashion junkies... ;)
and bags!!! Not only am I a fag hag - a bag hag too!!! Star ones, suede ones, fringe (ohhh my LOVE of fringe!!) and of course my sick... like deathly sick obsession for CHANEL... whomever said diamonds are a girls best friends obviously hadn't started her Chanel collection yet.... that's a no brainer...
